Dickinson acts as both a dealer and an agent. As an agent, Dickinson on behalf of the seller to achieve the best possible market price, on a transparent commission basis. Dickinson is known for its speed and discretion, and for its policy of charging lower commission fees than the auction houses do.

Dickinson has continued to establish close connections with international institutions, and notable sales over the years include that of the Virgin Adoring the Christ Child, which was acquired by the National Galleries of Scotland after it was rediscovered and attributed to Botticelli by Simon Dickinson. The Getty Museum has acquired numerous masterpieces from Dickinson over the years, including paintings by Rubens, Claude, Correggio, and Giuliano Romano. In recent years, Dickinson has sold works to museums including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the National Galleries of Scotland, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Van Gogh Museum and the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

SIMON DICKINSON
Chairman
Simon joined Christie's in 1968 and became the firm's youngest ever Director in 1974, rising to Head of the Old Master and British Pictures Department during his twenty-four year tenure. Known for his exceptional eye, Simon has made a number of important re-discoveries by artists such as Botticelli, Titian, Poussin, Watteau, Van Dyck and Claude Lorrain.

MILO DICKINSON
Managing Director
Echoing the career of his father, Milo joined from Christie’s where he worked for over a decade in several leading roles in both the Old Master Paintings and European Sculpture departments. A widely respected art expert and enthusiast, Milo is on the Steering Committee for the National Gallery Young Ambassadors and on the Board of the Friends of the Bargello Museum.

MOLLY TAYLOR
Associate Director & Head of Research
Molly worked as a specialist in Old Master Paintings at Christie’s before joining Dickinson in 2013, where she oversees all scholarly research on artworks ranging from the Renaissance through the Impressionist and Modern periods. Molly holds degrees in art history from Harvard and the Courtauld, as well as a PhD from the University of Cambridge.

HARRY GOOCH
Gallery Manager
Harry read History of Art at the University of Nottingham before working with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice and Masterpiece Art Fair, London. He joined Dickinson in 2023 and coordinates the gallery’s exhibitions and international art fairs.

WILLIAM BAYLISS
Junior Specialist
William read History of Art at the University of Edinburgh before completing his Master’s degree at The Courtauld where he wrote his dissertation on Sir Joshua Reynolds’ writings and subject pictures. He is particularly interested in British paintings from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

Registrar & Assistant to the Directors
Sophie studied History of Art at the University of Warwick and has experience working in art logistics. She assists with the day-to-day operations of the gallery.
